It has been several years since I had seen Rita.  As we grew and had families of our own, we did not stay in touch. Only at an occassional reunion would we see each other.  When we were young, we loved visiting our grandparents.  Rita was always there to play with when we were children.  The three of us had to sleep in Rita's twin bed, which was lots of fun since it was so small!  Rita had lots of chores to do, but she still had time for play. Even as a child she was a quiet, reserved person but we still had plenty of fun.

Rita loved her mother so much.  She and Elva always took care of Grandma.  I remember watching them do her hair and other personal things for her. Rita was such a good daughter.  Both of our Grandparents dearly loved her.

I have so many fond memories of Rita.  I will remember her with happiness, being glad that I knew this sweet person.

Deepest sympathy to all of Rita's family.  May you, with time, also be able to remember all the wonderful things she was to you. RIP

Many years ago,,all my family, mom, dad, brother and sisters would always go to Rita's adolpted parents house { which is also my grand parents. Arthur and Margie Edwards} and have sunday dinner, lots of times chicken and dumplings, and sometimes groundhog..I remember Margies dumplings so well,,and could never figure out how to make them like she did,,well Rita  wrote dowm the recipe and gave it to me before she died, those old time recipes do not need to be lost forever..One time when we were there Ritas adolped brother Mack talked me and brother Larry to sneak into Margies kitchen , while Margie, my mom and Aunts were making Sunday dinner to get a butcher knife and a salt shaker,,me and my brother were just little boys then and Mack sent us into the kitchen because his plans were for all us kids to raid Arthur and Margies watermellon patch,,Mack himselfdidnt want to get caught sneaking a butcher knife and salt out of Margies kitchen because he knew if he got caught Margie would whip his butt,,so he sent me and my brother to do the dirty deed. Uncle Mack was the brain child behind  this sceme,,but Rita was involved with raiding the watermellon patch with all us kids too..To my knowledge we never did get caught,,,but just maybe after everyone else left for the day..Mack and even Rita might have gotten their butts whipped by Margie..It was dang good watermellon tho,,,it always taste better when you steal it,,,Right Rita?? God Bless and RIP...I will never forget you...BTW Rita married my best friend Ray,,,I was supposed to have been the Best Man...I really dont recall how that worked out,,that was I think 1971 and they are still together,,Thats what real love is folks...God Bless
